I’m often asked to do paintings in secret as surprise gifts. It can make getting reference photos difficult, but I’m always up for a challenge. In this painting, I ended up adding the boxer on the lawn because she insisted on posing every time I tried to take a photo. I did this as a surprise for the commissioning customers, and they loved it. It wouldn’t have been their house without the dog.
