Open Studios 2019!

I’d love to invite you to visit me and see my new work at one of my four Open Studio days – that’s Saturday and Sunday this weekend (6th and 7th July), and the same the following weekend (13th and 14th July). The house (151 Hobart Road CB1 3PS) is open from 11am to 6pm each day. There is new work to see, gifts and cards to look at, and hopefully lots to chat about. There is, of course, no obligation to buy anything.

If you have children that love to draw, do bring them along. I’d love to see their drawings.

I’ve always had the creative whizz The Baking Jin provide me with cakes for my Open Studios. He was unable to do this year’s dates, so I had to rethink. In doing so, I think I have discovered a real star of the future. My amazing young neighbour Betty who walks our dog! I saw the birthday cake that she made for her little brother, and I knew she was a true baker. We’ve worked on the recipe choice together, and she has been trialling them, and we have been blown away by the results. She’s 11, so can’t open her own shop yet, but watch this space and come and try her tasty bakes…

There’s plenty of space to park bikes, and if you are coming by car, Hobart Road and the streets around have free on-road parking. Mill Road is closed to cars for the summer, so you can park near here and have a lovely wander up and down the newly pedestrian road, enjoying Mill Road Summer. My Open Studio is part of the Coleridge Trail – 14 artists all in my very local area.
