Kate asked me to create a painting of Hot Numbers Coffee in Gwydir Street, a place that we both love. She was planning to propose there, and wanted the painting to reflect her love story in some way. I asked her if she could manage to get some photos of her with Vikki, without Vikki knowing, and I used those to put Kate and Vikki in the cafe window. Their names are above the door, and the date in question is on a sign on the door. Oh, and it worked, because Vikki said yes!
